Title: Touched by the Devil

Series: Boys of Preston Prep
Authors: Angel Lawson & Samantha Rue
Genre: Contemporary/New Adult Romance
Release Date: November 13, 2020

Fights, sex, and fast cars. Those are what Sebastian Wilcox is all about.

On the outside he’s easy smiles and a quick temper, but on the inside, a war rages on. He told the Devils his biggest secret; during a vicious fight, he accidentally hurt someone who didn’t deserve it. For months now, he’s been cursed by the memory of her screams. But that’s not his only hidden truth. His complicated, abusive relationship with his brother, Heston, threatens Sebastian’s health and future.

What Sugar Voss wants is simple; to get the hell away from her family, the little town of Briar Cliff, and to be left alone. A last-minute scholarship into Preston Prep makes that possible. She starts a new life with a clean slate, and no one can see how f*cked up she really is.

Sugar has one rule: keep your damn hands to yourself.

The blond-haired brute at her new school already broke that rule once, and she won’t let him do it again. Unfortunately for Sugar, what she doesn’t realize is that for a guy like Sebastian, all rules are meant to be broken.

At Preston Prep, a Devil always gets his due.

A Deal With The Devil is a standalone novel in the Boys of Preston Prep series; an angsty, traumance, by USA Today Best Selling Author, Angel Lawson and Samanatha Rue

MY REVIEW:
Heart throbbing deliciousness! There are a lot of high school romances out now but this one is something special. I love the too pretty bad boy Sebastian and his bad girl Sugar. With a throw-away name like Sugar you just know she’s the opposite and she is…a knife-welding, smart-mouthed beauty with tons of baggage. The baggage is not too surprising and gets us where we need to be in the relationship she builds with Bass. There’s a deliciousness in the slow-build sexiness between the two that’s hot and different than the normal with this setup. I didn’t read the previous stories in this series so I’m missing a few details about Bass and the gang but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of this story. His baggage is a complex mess. No wonder he a mass of wildness that needs an outlet or two. But he’s fantastic as he deals with Sugar’s phobia with patience and understanding. The writing is terrific and it mostly feels like the age is right for the teens. Not too old with their language or actions. I loved that Bass was a teen boy and his little head was in control a lot of the time. Typical boy! The authors did an outstanding job with his personality. Charming, fun, loyal and wild. I loved that he wanted a pretty, bitchy girl in his passenger seat. Boy, did he get one! Sugar is so hard on the outside but that center was all gooey. They’re a fabulous couple. The secondary characters are fantastic with the Devils and the Playthings. I especially loved the Adams twins and hope the fabulous Micha gets a story. And the evil nastiness that is brother Heston. Is he redeemable? Love this story and will have to read the ones I missed because this one was a must read!
