𝐖𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐤
When Dustin Bridges left Camp Verde to try to make it on his own, he left half his heart behind. A life with Hannah Judge was just too dangerous. A mountain of chaos and violence was always aiming for the target on Dustin’s back, and that made giving up the only person he ever loved feel necessary.

But impossible isn’t a word Dustin believes in. Defying odds is what he’s good at. It’s how he’s survived. And when fate calls him home, he sees it as his chance to take back his girl, to make his heart whole and to put his makeshift family back together.

Just one thing. That family? And more importantly, that girl? They want nothing to do with him.

When Dustin left Hannah without a word, he broke a promise. More than that, he broke a bond. He broke Hannah. The life she saw in her future was gone in a blink, and in its place she grew a heart of stone and a craving for danger.

But isn’t danger what Dustin Bridges is really all about?

*Burn completes their love story in their mid 20s. Coming July 30th!

MY REVIEW:

Ok, this wrecked me! Crunch, crash, bang! What a follow up to the first story. I love this author’s fabulous characters and divine storytelling with tons of emotion that pulls my heartstrings in the best way. Except for the ending. Broke my heart as one fell from grace. There are huge twists and turns with all the characters as they come back together after four years apart. Dustin’s back in town after his father’s death that leaves Dustin with one big surprise and reconnecting with the Judge family. The relationship between these folks is one of the best parts of the story especially Dad Tom. I love him. Mom Amanda had her moments, too. It takes some groveling on Dustin’s part but soon him and Hannah are back in a good place. I loved that the Eat My Dust kids are back together as Dustin’s dream comes true. The racing world was one of my favorite parts as Dustin, Tommy and Hannah were back in their element at the track preparing for the big race. And oh yeah, Dustin and Hannah finally sealed the deal. Hot and sweet! Hannah had a few quirks that were surprising. She really changed over the four years and with what she did at the end, I think she was so broken by Dustin leaving. What else explains her poor judgement? I can’t believe that I ended up not liking Hannah. I’m curious to see if she’s redeemable in the next part. That epilogue was heartbreaking! This was a page turner with all the heart and emotion I’ve come to expect from this fabulous author. So many feels as Dustin and the Judge family come back together. There’s an element of suspense with the Vegas connection. I’m jonesing for the next installment to see how everything plays out, not only with Hannah and her poor decisions but with Vegas and the track and Dad Tom’s secret and Dustin’s heart. Yeah, a lot going on and it’s thrilling. A must read series!
