MY REVIEW:
Another fantastic story in this thrilling MC series! I love this struggling club with a group of sexy brothers divided by the past and the future. Moving away from criminal activities and looking to become legit with only legal endeavors has divided the brothers. This story picks up where the last story ended in the aftermath of a bloody battle with several enemies and the loss of brothers including the beloved Prez. It’s time for the new Prez to step up and channel Iceman, the former Prez. Railroad doesn’t feel qualified to take over after Iceman’s successful reign but he was voted in and is determined to lead the brothers forward. He wants to live free without the threat of bullets, evil enemies, the law, death and destruction. It’s a fight to get everyone on board with the plans while tying up loose ends and looking for a rat, former brother Piglet. That search leads to his sister and our heroine Gretchen. She’s a fierce businesswoman with a challenging disability that she doesn’t let stop her from succeeding. Gretchen is fabulous and I love that the author took the leap to give us a different type of heroine. The sparks fly at the first meeting between Gretchen and Railroad. Hot chemistry and a sizzling connection. Rail is an intriguing brother with a dark past that takes awhile to reveal and it’s dark and disturbing. His past plays out in the present with Piglet’s new life. What transpires is horrifying and dark, dark, dark. When Gretchen gets caught in the madness Rail is drawn back to his past to save her. The Dutchmen turn into heroes when they ride to the rescue to save a group destine for a cruel existence. The danger and intrigue of the story was intense and scary with one brother involved in the treachery. The romance between Rail and Gretchen was sexy hot but Rail was out of his depth because he didn’t do romance or relationships. But when he got there it was heart melting goodness. There were a couple of scenes that had a bit of mythicism that wasn’t my favorite. I loved the first story so much that I think whatever came next would be a letdown. This was a terrific follow up to Iceman and I look forward to the next installment with this group of brothers and their future challenges as they find love and thrive. Worth the read!
