Not much has gone according to plan for mechanic, Pippa Freling, recently. With lots of bridges burned behind her, she decides to stick close to her sister and give Montana a try.
Things are looking up when she joins a local group of animal activists, buys an auto shop for a steal, and even tries her luck with the opposite sex. But it doesn’t take long before her hopeful new future is derailed once again.
This time permanently.
Maintaining tight control is the stronghold in Sully Eckhart’s life. It served him well during his years in special forces and has kept him out of trouble since. But his self-restraint stretches only so far whenever he finds himself faced with the one woman who has the ability to shake his determination. A woman he’s tried to avoid for months—since the first time she shook his resolve—but who now finds herself in the middle of a serial murder case.
However, when she not only ends up a person of interest to the FBI, but firmly in the crosshairs of a killer, he has no other option but to stick close.
And give up all control.
Terrific addition to this fabulous romance suspense series! I love everything about this series. Outstanding characters, heart melting romance, thrilling suspense, chilling danger, mountain adventure, shocking twists, a few laughs, and the best family and friends. This story features tracker/former military hunk Sully and firecracker/mechanic Pippa. And both are survivors of past danger in this series. To really know them you really need to read the first two books. Not necessary but I highly recommend doing so. Especially Pippa because what she went through in the previous story says so much about her. I love the big surprise for these two and their journey to love. I’m kind of surprised the author went there again with Pippa after big sis Nella’s joy, but I didn’t hate it. In fact I loved it and the added additions to this group. I can only hope the series continues with the addition of Sloane and reappearance of FBI agent Wolfe. Plus there’s still Dan, Una and a couple of sons. Big shout out to Thomas. What a hoot he is! He’s the father/grandfather (both real and surrogate) of this group of men, women and children. He delivers the best line at the end of the story that had me laughing hard. For me, the mystery and intrigue was original and interesting even if I figured out who the culprit was but not the why and how. Wonderful epilogue and teaser for the next book. There’s only one of the original trackers left so he’s up next. Bo’s love interest has been obvious from the beginning as he’s danced around the prickly Lucy through three books. Her story is going to be heartbreaking with all the sadness and mystery surrounding her. I can’t wait! Loved this one!
