I stalk my prey, never taking my eyes off the target.

I’m a sniper by trade, but I’m so much more than that.
My rifle is an extension of me.
I am the bullet.
I am a Hunter of Gunmen.
I was born a protector and I’d die that way.
Leaving the military didn’t change that. It’s why I started my business, Owens Protective Services.
My men are my family, my brothers.
And the people I protect are my mission.
As for the tangos…sometimes you have to flush the toilet of humanity.
But even when protecting clients, I’ve never put myself on the line for anyone like I have for her.
She keeps her secrets close to the vest, much like I keep my emotions.
I’ve always been able to compartmentalize a job, but with her, everything’s out of control. I can’t decide if I can trust her or not, especially when she stumbles into the middle of a job. She seems innocent, but aren’t they always?
I see the scared woman backing away from anyone that comes near her. I see the urge to run. But I also see the kitten with claws, ready to come out fighting if anyone dares come after her.
Deep down, I know she’s my destiny.
My reason for fighting.
I will uncover her secrets, and then I’ll do my job, taking out anyone that dares threaten her.

I’m a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, “No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book.” I didn’t think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn’t already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven’t been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

MY REVIEW: Thrills, chills, danger and action! A thrilling start to a new series by an author that always gives us something different. Sure it’s a company similar to the fabulous Reed Security with a few Reed folks in the story, but we have a new set of guys and gals to cheer for. OPS, Owens Protection Services, is a company of highly skilled badass operatives ready to take on the evildoers and come out on top. This story has tons of baddies but the focus is on the terrorists that reeked havoc on the west coast. OPS’ owner and leader is the hunky, sniper extraordinaire Cash Owens. His teams are full of unusual, sometimes quirky and crazy, operatives. When the story starts a lot of characters are introduced and it’s a little confusing but soon a few rise to the top especially the crazies. Per the author’s typical characters we get wacky conversations, crazy behaviors and hilarious antics. Sometimes it’s a little jarring since it’s an “end of the world” scenario with terrorists, plus our heroine Beth has a couple of different criminals after her. Boy, does Beth find trouble! Horrible family life, wrong turn, running for her life and never finding a break until she runs afoul of Cash. Is she good or bad? Cash struggles for awhile until the truth comes out along with his protective streak and his romantic interest. But he doesn’t sleep with clients so that leaves Beth in tears. Yup, he’s a sexy hunk. I would cry too. There is fast paced action right from the start with bullets, bad guys and danger at every turn. It’s a little disjointed for me at times with all the characters introduced and several plot lines running and impossible situations and unrealistic events. I mean what super sniper carries his rifle with a woman’s name into the water? Moving on…at times there was too much quirky cuteness with these hardened, mostly former military operatives for me but it’s a trademark of this author’s writing and I know I will settle in as the series continues resulting in me loving it quirks and all. This ends in a major cliffhanger that I wasn’t expecting. Ugh, I want the rest of the story now! This is a terrific start to a new series by one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait for more of OPS and the intriguing characters. What’s up with Rafe? Now there’s a mystery that I can’t wait to find out. I loved Red and the token woman Rae. I look forward to their stories. Not a lot of romance in this part but I know that sexy hotness is on the way because this author always brings it. Great start to a new series with hot hunks, one distressed heroine, bad guys, intriguing suspense and exciting action and danger. Loved it!
