“Here ya go.” Brewer placed the large purple mug on the table just as she opened her eyes. “Smells pretty fancy to me. What is it?”

Picking it up, she licked the whipped cream and took a timid sip. “Vanilla bean latte with an extra shot of espresso.”

“Vanilla?” He shook his head. “You’re anything but vanilla.”

Delphi wrapped both her hands around the large mug. “How do you know?”

He leaned close, blue eyes sparkling. “It’s in your smile.”

She laughed. “My smile?”

“Yep. You’ve got this naughty quality about you.”

Rolling her eyes, Delphi offered him a cheesy smile. “Nope. I’m as vanilla as they come.”

He searched her face. “I don’t believe that for a second.”

She shrugged. “Think what you want. I’ll be enjoying this cup of heaven while you scurry back to whatever hole you crawled out of.”

Brewer licked his top lip, the smile never leaving his face. He wasn’t backing down and neither was she. It both frightened and bewitched her. “I’d like to tame that tongue of yours, but it’d be a waste.” He stood, replacing the beanie to his head. Almost instantly, she missed the mussed hair.

“Why’s that?”

Placing one hand on the table and the other on the back of her chair, Brewer trapped her in the seat. He rubbed his lips together and let out a low sigh. “Because I’d rather let it roam free against mine instead.” He moved closer, his nose brushing against hers.

Delphi couldn’t breathe. He was close enough to kiss, and she desperately wanted to bite the lip hidden beneath his bushy beard.

“Keep looking at me like that, and I won’t be able to control myself.” He pressed a feathery light kiss to her cheek. “And if that happens, I’ll want to see how vanilla you truly are behind that fiery façade.”

MY REVIEW:

I’m sad for the ending of this thrilling series but the journey was terrific. I still think there are more brothers that deserve a story. I really like this series that offers something different from the usual MC stories. Sure, there’s the fierce brotherhood, club girls, hunky brothers, sassy old ladies, and less than legit activities. What you won’t find is the Devil, Satan, Hades or Grim Reaper as the club patron. This club’s is an Irish goddess. Yes! Hence the fierce need to protect women that the Macha live for. This story is sexy romance between a brother that grew up in the club and a woman that fears the MC life. Brewer is a sexy hunk that’s all about the ale he brews, one-night stands, and his club. Oh, and finding his parents’ killer(s). One of those goes by the wayside when he meets the beauty, Delphi. They dance around each other since the last thing she wants is to fall for a biker. But Brewer can’t let her go. It’s sexy hot as these to embark on a delicious push pull before they get to the foregone conclusion. They are perfect together. But there’s a big secret to be revealed plus the hunt to find the killer. I love the action, danger and intrigue plus the steamy romance. This is a terrific group of brothers and I love catching up with them all along with the next generation of kiddos. There’s a bit of poignancy as the old crew retires with the need for a new president and a new cabinet. This series has some of the best heroines ever. No wilting flowers in this group. I’m sad for the end but look forward to the next series from this talented author.
