The road to self-discovery leads Maverick Kensington deep into the heart of New Orleans. The colorful characters, beautiful scenery and a hot mess of a woman he finds along the way offer him the perfect place to reinvent himself.
Oh, the Big Easy. It sets the scene for an entertaining, sweet romance with interesting, likable characters. This is a easy read like the colorful story’s backdrop of New Orleans. Young boutique hotel owner, Carys is a wonderful hot mess of a character. And Maverick, a young real estate mogul from Dallas loves her hot mess. They’re a really cute couple with some heat. They share similar family dynamics although Mav’s father is a piece of work and causes drama. The secondary characters are terrific and although Jules is a bit of a cliche he does create lots of levity and has some great one liners. This is a predictable storyline but it’s still fresh and enjoyable reading due to the great characters, the humor and the little messages of wisdom. I have a feeling there are more stories in this series, past and future, but this is my first and it’s a stand-alone. I’m interested in reading more from this author duo because once I started this story I read it straight through to get to the delicious ending.
