❤️ My Review
Wow! There’s so much to this story I don’t know where to start. It’s an action-packed thrill ride of adventure and danger on both sides of the pond. There’s a perceived threat to the British monarchy, an evil Order, assassins, fearless warriors, ancient history, and a swoony romance. The mystery was there from the beginning and there seemed to be a hint of mysticism surrounding Ellie along with all the secrets and lies. I didn’t get a good sense of who she was until Will took over and became the boss of her. Dang he’s hot! But he’s almost too much. I mean he’s a British aristocrat, a billionaire, a warrior, an assassin, a businessman, and foremost Ellie’s defender. He has a lot of balls to juggle and sometimes it seemed inconceivable but for the most part the author did a great job of making it all work. Will did have the help of those sexy Hastings brothers and their security hunks. The romance between Ellie and Will took off fast and hot. I didn’t feel their connection at first but as the story developed it made more sense and once she was all in the bossy dominant alpha took over. But with Ellie’s growth she soon figured out how to manage his dominance in most areas of their relationship. This is a difficult review for me because parts of the story I loved and others not so much. It was a little long and there was some repetition but I’m glad I read it and can’t wait for the next story. I hope Ellie opens that door in her mind so we can find out what that’s about. I was left with the feeling there are more secrets to be revealed and mysteries to be solved. This is my first read by this author and I like her writing style and her characters are complex and intriguing.
