Gideon Masters
is a wild god.

Worshipped for his bold paintings as much as his divine looks, he’s the
art world’s biggest celebrity. Under normal circumstances our paths would never
cross.

But when his extracurricular activities threaten a high-profile
business deal, I’m forced to take him as a client. My task: keep him out of the
tabloids for six months.

But Gideon doesn’t want a publicist. He wants a new muse.

As I fall deeper under his sinful spell, a lifetime of secrets and
carefully crafted lies unravels. Too late, I remember the truths they protect:

I am already someone’s masterpiece.

And the original
artist wants me back.

My Review:

I was thrilled to dive into this new story from one of my favorite authors. I love her complex characters, beautiful writing, enthralling storylines and emotion on top of emotion. What’s better than a sexy, broody artist, a hotshot PR beauty, devastating secrets and evil incarnate? Here we go…another page turner! The story starts out so strong with all the feels and emotion and intrigue I’ve come to expect from this author. But then it sort of went sideways for me. Both Gideon and Deirdre are shrouded in mystery from the beginning and their chemistry is off the charts especially when they go toe to toe. Gideon starts out as an enigma and kind of stayed there even with the reveals. Sometimes I loved him and others he seemed a little cliche. Maybe I’ve read too many brooding artists stories lately. I did revel in his treatment of Deirdre later in the story. Deirdre is a fabulous character. So strong, complex and broken but seemingly holding it all together until her past resurfaces. I didn’t understand her behavior in the end. She had people! I just wanted to shake her even if she did have her reasons. The next half should be interesting to see how all the parts come together and hopefully our lovers reunited. Great secondary characters in this one. Even with the hiccups it’s one hell of a dark read. Chills and thrills and hot sexy times!

Author Bio
When not writing or reading, the author enjoys walking
barefoot, subjecting her husband to questionable recipes, and chasing her
spirited toddler. She’s a rabid fan of coffee, moon-gazing, and small dogs that
resemble Ewoks. Home is San Diego, CA, but her heart lives in Portland.
