❤️ My Review

This pulled me in from the beginning with the intriguing storyline and the interesting characters. Young innocent Alexandra had few options when she makes a bad decision that leads her to a future she could only dream about. The smokin’ hot Erik! This is not a unique plot but the spunky Alex and the sexy Erik makes it work in a good way. Both have heartbreaking tragedy in their past. With Alex it’s still affecting her present with her awful sister and bad choices. It goes deeper with Erik and his devastating past that includes his sisters and leads him to take a different path with his life. One that’s dangerous and so heroic. Loved him and all his alpha tendencies. When he saves Alex and becomes overly protective she doesn’t know what to think. He gave me whiplash with his treatment of her. He’s sweet, he’s an asshole, he’s sweet, he’s an asshole and on and on it goes. We all know where this is going, even Erik, age difference and experience level be damn. He finally makes his decision when Alex ends up in danger again. She’s his girl and he’s going to claim her. Finally! Then it gets really steamy between these two. Erik is so sweet and gentle while being a sexy alpha too. There is some repetition in the story that made it a little long for me but I read an advance copy so hopefully the final edit took care of that. The writing is wonderful and the characters, main and secondary, felt so real with fabulous connections all the way around. There’s an element of horrific realism about a sensitive subject that could be a trigger for some with danger and suspense. But there’s also a sexy slow-build romance that counters the bad. The ending was a WTF and I can’t wait for Ian and Carina’s story.

Fiona Cole is a military wife and a stay at home mom with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. As much as she loved science she decided to postpone her career to stay at home with her two little girls and immersed herself in the world of books until finally deciding to write her own.
