Page-turning excellence! Top notch from the beautiful covers all the way to the end. I absolutely loved the first book in this duet and didn’t know if I could love the second half as much. Boy, was I wrong and glad of it. I started reading rather late in the evening and couldn’t put it down. My husband kissed me goodbye the next morning and said “you need to sleep” with a smile on his face because he knew it wasn’t happening. I had ahold of an epic thriller with a hot romance. My favorite! The writing sucked me in with the continued chilling serial killer storyline that kept me guessing as to the devious culprit. I thought I knew who it was but the author kept throwing curveballs. Then it ramped up when Oliver got involved and momma Nola went crazy. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Voss. Panty melting with his sexual proclivities, mad skills and take no prisoners attitude. I loved the transformation of this character into more than just a unimpassioned assassin with sexual preferences that lean toward deviance. He’s such a badass hero. The reveals and twists were awesome and the finale had my heart in my throat. So exciting and spine tingling! I read the author’s notes and was surprised that this is her first true thriller. Just fabulous and I want more!
