My Review

Outstanding! What a terrific duet with fantastic characters. I don’t know how this wonderful author continues to create unique heroes and heroines for her mafia worlds. This one has dirty talking, take charge, heir apparent of the Toronto Guzzi family, Gian Guzzi. What a sexy name. Yum! He was taught that duty, legacy and love, in that order, are the way he will live his life. But he didn’t count on meeting the stunning Cara and soon decides that love will come first for him even if he is bound by duty. Cara is recovering from a life altering tragedy when she meets Gian. As a Rossi of the Chicago Outfit she’s no stranger to his world but she doesn’t want to be involved in his lifestyle. Gian with his dangerous voice, overwhelming sexiness and rough handling are too much for Cara to resist. And what woman could resist a bossy hunk that speaks beautiful words in three languages. Hotness personified! This is one sizzling couple. I loved the way Gian really talked to Cara with beautiful words and so much understanding. The conversations between these two are outstanding. The emotion was killer at times. Their story is full of danger, intrigue, bloody deeds, deception and trickery. I knew there would be a twist at the end of the first story but I was so blown away. I did not see that one coming. Fantastic! The second half picks up with our couple in shreds and seemingly no way back from their circumstances. There were parts that were a little slow for me but I still kept flipping the pages because I knew I was in for more jaw-dropping twists and I was not disappointed. Evil villains caused so much damage and tried to thwart Gian and Cara at every turn. The culprits were not that big of a surprise and one got what they deserved while the other was heartbreaking. But that’s life in the Cosa Nostra. Bloody goodness!
