Excerpt:

I look up into his dark eyes. “This is a dangerous game of cat and mouse we’re playing.”

“More like a game of cat and bird,” he corrects.

I straighten my posture, my nipples grazing his hard chest. “And we all know how that turns out in the end. The cat eats the bird.”

Nine lightly scrapes his nails over my bare arms before pressing them into my skin. I gasp at the slight bite of pain. “No, the pretty bird swoops down from nowhere and sinks her sharp talons into the cat, marking him for life.”

There’s no sarcasm in his voice. I don’t know how to begin to process what it is he’s saying. It takes all of my concentration to get out my next few words.

“And…and then what?”

Nine picks me up off the floor in one quick motion, flipping me back onto the bed. He crawls over my body, hovering above me, pinning my wrists to the mattress. He grazes his teeth over the sensitive spot behind my ear. He lowers his voice to a deliciously deep rumble that has me vibrating with his every word.

“And then he eats her.”

MY REVIEW

Another gritty, dirty romance in this fan-fucking-tastic series! And another Clearwater brother to swoon over!! And swoon I did over the hot hunk Nine. A cross between King’s badassery and Preppy’s quirky smartness. I love this series and am so glad the author found another terrific couple to add to this group of super hunks and their awesome women. Just like his brother Preppy, Kevin/Nine had a troubled, tragic childhood but doesn’t make any excuses or apologizes for his bad behavior or problem solving skills that are not always on the right side of the law. Nine is a welcome addition to the other badass “brothers” with criminal tendencies. Smart, sexy and fierce. And like the others, he will do anything to protect his woman, Lenny. And boy, does she need it. What a beautiful mess she is and a fabulous character with all her quirks and messy issues and best friend, vodka. Sad but realistic. Nine and Lenny’s beginning was unique and their connection just kept building into something wonderful and so hot. Sizzling chemistry! They’re a great couple to add to the Logan’s Beach family. Loved catching up with the all the guys, gals and kiddos. Bo was a hoot. Can’t wait for him to grow up. I did miss Rage though. She’s one of my favorite. Now I’m ready for Pike’s story. Thanks, T. M. for this spectacular story and characters that jumped off the pages right into my heart.
