MY REVIEW:

Well, isn’t this the shit! I say shit because that seems to be Nixon’s favorite word. With the last name of Swagger that says it all about this sexy guy with a reputation, some good and a little bad, in small town, Cliff City, especially with his longtime distain for the local authorities with just cause. Mostly he’s the returning local hero. And he’s the shit as the bossy, alpha head of a new group of former military hunks that form the Gemini Group to fight the baddies without the government red tape. He’s fantastic as the dominant hothead home after years as a SEAL to restore his family’s farm after his father’s death. And what does he find after years away? A new neighbor in the form of a self proclaimed tomboy in McKenna aka Mickey. She is absolutely terrific as the smart, strong, sassy heroine with a lot of responsibility when she inherits her teen sibs after the death of her dad and stepmom. Those kids need a firm hand and Nixon steps in to tune them up in the best way and give McKenna a hand. The sparks fly with their first meeting and soon the romance moves to a sweet and sexy relationship between the two with sizzling heat. I loved their relationship especially with the teens, Zack and Mandy, as the four became a family. And just when things are settling a former military friend shows up with a mission for Nix and his new team. What a group of hunks that show up to form the Gemini Group. Hot! Some of the Ops seemed a little confusing to me and I’m not sure that McKenna would have been that involved but it makes for a suspenseful storyline. Lots of bad guys between the Gemini mission and the locals. The distain for the local authorities may have been warranted but the lip from both McKenna and Nix didn’t ring true with me. The author’s writing style took me a few minutes to get used to but I like the storytelling with lots of details. The characters are the real stars of the story with the lovely McKenna, the typical teens in Zack and Mandy and the yummy Nix. His teaching the teens about life was terrific. I hope we get to see the kids grow as the series continues. I can’t wait for the next story about Gemini team member, Jameson and newbie blonde bomb, Kennedy.
