FALCON, the first book in the Trinity Academy Series by Michelle Heard is LIVE!! + My Review

Blurb:

Wealth and power make them untouchable.

Bound by an unbreakable brotherhood, Falcon, Mason, and Lake are the monarchs of Trinity Academy.

I just want to study, get my degree, then join Dad in his travels around the world.

My hopes of flying under the radar during my three years at college are quickly shattered when I find myself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Falcon and Grayson are sworn enemies and business rivals, and I’m caught in the middle of their cold war because Grayson showed interest in me.

Then there’s my secret… which Falcon knows about. He uses it to keep me under his thumb, and I’d love nothing more than to knock the arrogant heir off his throne. But in a world where possessions, connections, and status rule, I can’t afford for the students to learn the truth behind my attending Trinity Academy.

It leaves me at Falcon’s mercy, but at the rate we’re fighting, one of us might just die before the term is over.

At least, that’s what I thought… until feelings get in the way and complicate things.

MY REVIEW:

I zipped through this one! With all the Gossip Girl type series that are flooding readers right now this one is a little different. The bad boys are not so bad and the poor ingenue isn’t corruptible. This was a quick, easy read that’s well written and keep me engaged until the end. Nothing too heavy and mostly predictable but nevertheless entertaining. The head of the bad boy group, Falcon is an intriguing character along with his forbidden love interest, Layla. Falcon and his crew ruled Trinity as heirs to the university and their families’ fortunes. The take on how much pressure these young people are under to carry on family tradition and ensue the continuance of wealth and status was interesting. Lots of drama, scheming and manipulation all the way around. The in-your-face, over-the-top wealth of the 1%’s was a little much but fit the story. Falcon is a problem solver and handles his nemesis and many challenges with brilliance. Layla is a terrific heroine. She doesn’t compromise her values and is strong and a fighter while being sweet. She whipped the boys into shape! The chemistry between Layla and Falcon was undeniable, sexy and caring. Their relationship developed fast and was heart meltingly sweet. Great characters in crew of bad boys and the wonderful Kingsley. I loved and hated the ending. It seemed a little rushed and a WTF event sets up for the next installment. Can’t wait!
