MY REVIEW:
Let the good times roll! The Big Easy heiress and party girl, Ela is a girl after my heart. What’s better than waking up handcuffed to a hunky Marine? Well, it would be better if said Marine wasn’t a broody killjoy and Ela could remember what happened. The heiress realizes it’s time to straighten up and protect the LeBlanc legacy and she’s winning until the plot to undo her success is ramped up. Enter former Marine turned security expert turned bodyguard, Matt. He’s after a job with Ela’s family’s company by way of her Dad who’s currently running things but he’s drafted into becoming Ela’s bodyguard. The attraction between the two is obvious but Matt puts duty first and the romance takes a back burner and then danger arrives and Ela’s life is in the line. Matt jumps in with the help of a couple of his Marine buddies to keep Ela safe. Things turn deadly in a plot to undermine Ela and her life is on the line. The action ramps up in the last part of the story and there’s a surprise twist with the unveiling of the culprits. The romance between Ela and Matt is sexy and sweet. It took me awhile to buy into their relationship but by the end I was onboard with the sexy duo. I liked Ela from the start and she seemed authentic. Matt was a harder sell with him being a former Marine and a millionaire with a tragic past with ties to New Orleans and a terrific adopted family in the Coles. There were some plot holes and a few elements that were a little out there but for the most part it’s an enjoyable romance suspense with a good ending. I did like the glimpses of Cole family and the brothers. This is a quick easy read with interesting characters in Ela and Matt and those hunky operatives with hints of other storylines involving the Cole brothers. Loved the Big Easy setting!
