Pure entertaining! Silly fun, crazy cat, cool Nan, super cool intern, and a couple that are too much fun. What starts out as a ‘boo” on romance turns into the BBS, a ‘not club’ club of dinkhead guys and a few stupid rules. Head bastard, Brooks, is down on romance after a breakup and wouldn’t you know it, the minute the rules are dry he meets “the one.’ From the first encounter between the quirky Abbott and the super cute Brooks is a hilarious mess. I laughed half way through the book at this fabulous ‘not a relationship’ relationship between these two. They build a unique friendship with a slow build to something more. The more being love. There’s not a lot of sex in the story but there’s a titillating build up to a couple of unconventional sexy encounters that had me melting with anticipation. The writing was terrific and the characters were spectacular. Abbott as the unassuming rich, smart gal that also is very pretty and has her own brand of sexuality is a wonderful heroine. Sassy mouth, smart brain, a crazy cat and the best grandmother. She’s has her eye on her handsome neighbor but is too shy to make a move until Brooks forces her hand. His objective was free food but soon he realizes he likes hanging with Abbott. And then there’s the fabulous Nan. Brooks vacillates between being a hunky, smart, rising professional to being a goofy frat guy. He’s terrific and comes through in a big way for Abbott at the risk of losing his “inheritance’. The BBS is made up of three guys that were…well, I have no words. They make my head hurt with their butthurt feelings and misguided ideas. So funny and I can’t wait for more from the BBS. There are some really great secondary characters in Nan, Taylor and Bambi. The cat, Desi, was part hilarious and part too in your face. I didn’t care for his/her POV and I wanted more from the epilogue. But overall it’s a winner for me with the fantastic friendship to lover relationship between two of the best characters in Abbott and Brooks and the hilarious BBS group of guys.
