Probably the best stalker romance I have ever read! ~ I like Books Best

You’ll judge me.
Hate me and tell me I’m wrong.
Refuse to see how my darkness is what she needs.
While I don’t particularly care about your feelings in the matter, and while I pursue her despite the wedding bells that rang for another, only I can see how she is drowning beneath mediocrity.
How many times must I remind her?
It can’t matter that I am the person who ruined her life.
The man who killed her father.
The constant shadow that watches her sleep.
The lover who prefers dirty alleyways to freshly laundered sheets

She’s mine. Always has been. 
I’m the worst thing for her, yet I’m the only salvation she knows.
He had his chance to make her happy.
He failed.
He didn’t see how she was dying inside because he couldn’t know her.
Not like I know her.

I am her stalker.
Her protector.
And the only man that can bring her back to life.

Clearing my throat, I whisper, β€œI’m a married woman.”

β€œYou keep saying that, but I’m not sure I care.” A pause. β€œI’m not sure you care either.”

He runs a fingertip along the curve of my hip, and I jump, my throat slamming closed as I attempt to hide the reaction.

β€œAre you planning on having any fun tonight, Adeline? Or has your life become so boring, you’ve forgotten what it is?”

I don’t answer him, but it doesn’t stop Ari from having his fun.

Another soft slide of a fingertip, this time down the center of my nape, the secret touch hidden by the fall of my hair.

β€œI hope you know I plan to wrap my fist in this hair the first time I sink inside you.”

My entire body shivers, my lungs struggling to breathe as he pulls his hand away.

Voice a low croon, he asks, β€œWill you dance with me?”

Swallowing several times before I can answer, I lie to him. β€œI don’t dance.”

But it makes me remember when I used to lose myself to the beat of music, the hours I would spend happily working myself into a full body sweat, my hair wild, my heart pounding. I’d felt so free then. So unencumbered by the weight of responsibility that came with being the wife of Grant Cabot.

β€œI think you do,” he whispers.

β€œMy husband doesn’t dance,” I say, my voice firmer because it makes me angry to admit it.

A soft chuckle. β€œThen it’s a good thing I’m not your husband.”

MY REVIEW: Stalker perfection! An impossible piece of perfection! I started this and couldn’t put it down as the cat and mouse game kept me flipping the pages. A memorizing dark romance with thrills, chills and an assassin with a penance for a β€˜little monster’ of a girl that he created, in part. Ari is a spectacular antihero (right behind The Director’s Ethan) that is a stalker extraordinaire as he invades Adeline during sleep and wake. But with Adeline you don’t know if it’s a waking or dream moment. Her condition was so interesting and perfect for this story. The question of what was real and what was a dream was masterful as Adeline lived in the in between with a passion. I was holding my breath as Ari’s slowly evades Adeline’s world and seduces her into a madness of pleasure and pain. Oh, he is a sexy ahole and turns her inside out with his torturous games. There’s always a twist with this author but this one didn’t have a big impact on the story for me. I love Ari’s fellow assassin Lincoln and hope he gets a story. And I loved that old friends Rebecca and Aiden made an appearance! I couldn’t get enough of Ari and Adeline and their hot chemistry. This is a fabulous dark and dirty stalker romance with outstanding characters from a spectacular storyteller.

I love books! I have been reading for as long as I can remember. I was the kid with the flashlight under the covers reading until the wee hours. Books were my refuge. I was delighted to discover tree climbing. I would take a book and climb to the top of a Mimosa tree and read for hours...and of course ignore my mother calling for me to do chores. I was committed to reading all of the Nancy Drew stories. Ned was my first book boyfriend. When I was in my early teens I discovered Harlequin romances. I feel in love and it changed my life. I was in love with Love πŸ’• That’s something for a girl who hadn’t been kissed yet. When I read β€œhe thrust his throbbing member into her womanhood” I was lost to discovering more about this particular brand of romance. But I don’t just enjoy romance reads. My father-in-law introduced me to the high fantasy genre and I loved it. When I bought my first Nook the world of books really took me by surprise. I was enthralled with all the available genres and to my delight I discovered erotica. In most cases, I was with family on visits to bookstores and you don’t peruse those even if they carried them. Oh the shame of it! ;) Thanks to Nancy Drew I still enjoy mysteries along with romance, fantasy, erotica, paranormal, steampunk, thrillers, and well, most anything except a horror of a horror. My favorite might be romance suspense but it’s hard for me to pick just one. I had a serious health issue a few years ago and was forced to quite working after building a career I could be proud of. It was devastating and depressing. I lost myself in books and now spend my days (and nights) reading. I am so appreciative of authors and the wonderful storytelling I’ve found in books. It takes me away from my troubles and introduces me into a world like no other. I love books!
