MY REVIEW:
This blew me away! I was surprised I liked it so much because it’s not really my demographic but a beautiful love story is always a treat. This one is full of young, first love with a stunning build to a relationship that’s pure romance. Star-crossed lovers, Luca and Elise, are fabulous characters with tons of depth and the author really brought them to life in a mafia setting. Brutal and sometimes bloody these kids are on the cusp of adulthood when a chance encounter and the senior high experience has them falling in love and planning a future. Life has a way of interfering and tragedy strikes. There were just a few things that didn’t add up for me. The kids weren’t tied to electronics like a current setting but there were others elements that were up to date. A little weirdness but didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story. Also, the drama at the end with Luca was a little out there with high angst but I loved the relationship he had with his besties, Alesso and Leo. Overall it is fantastic with so much emotion, a heart throbbing romance and ultimate heartbreak. The ending was thrilling and gut wrenching and so sad. Talk about a cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the next story to see what happens to these young lovers. A must read!
