A striking woman with dark brown hair interjected with , โIโm sorry, but dinner will be served after the toasts.โ Her voice was smooth, like a fine glass of whiskey.
Taken aback , he stared at the olive-skinned beauty before letting his gaze trail down her body, to her gunmetal beaded ballet shoes , and then back up, lingering on her luscious cleavage in her V-neck blouse, until settling on her gold stud nose piercing.
Her lips parted, and a pink blush crept across her cheeks. Fuck. His gaze lowered to her cleavage again. When she drew in a sharp breath, her tits rose. Lust gripped his spine, shooting a jolt straight to his balls.
She cleared her throat, bringing his attention to her eyes. โThe toasts shouldnโt take too long.โ He pointed to the cheese platter. โI canโt even take one of them fancy crackers? Cโmon, Iโm starving here.โ He gave her his most beguiling smile, boyish and charming. The one that had landed him into countless beds.
Her chestnut eyes fixed on his, as if she were studying him. Finally , she crossed her arms and shook her head. โThat isnโt going to work here. Iโm on a strict schedule from the brideโs family , and if I so much as budge from that timetable, my staff will be overrun with a flood of guests, eliminating my chance of getting a much-needed referral.โ Resting her hands on the table, she leaned toward him. โDo yourself a favor and catch one of the appetizer trays Iโve been shuffling out.โ
The scent of her perfume wrapped around his libido, causing him to stand there, staring at her like a moron. Pushing his desire aside, he cocked his head to the side.
โIs that how you treat all your clientโs guests?โ Straightening, she held her head high. Sassy, defiant, and feisty. I like that. โOnly the ones who think Iโll bend over backward for them just because theyโre good-looking and think theyโre charming.โ Licking her sexy lips, she held his gaze. โDo you need anything else, sir?โ
โWell, you told me.โ Tank chuckled as he snatched another glass of champagne from a passing waiter.
Her sharp tongue and quick dismissal floored him. He couldnโt remember the last time a woman had come up against him like that. Usually, he was beating them off, so he had to admit, her cheekiness was a refreshing change. His eyes lowered, pausing at her throat where her pulse jumped like a frenzied rabbit, making him feel smug. Yeah, sheโs fuckinโ attracted to me, and the feeling is sure as hell mutual.

MY REVIEW:
I liked this nomad series with brothers taking a time out from club life for various reasons. The latest story has Tank dealing with family issues and can’t commit to the daily business for his club right now. He’s still on-call but not up-to-date with the club going ons until his personal life intersects with club activities. Tank meets a feisty caterer that pushes all his buttons. Lena is overcoming a recent tragedy and is focused on growing her business. She doesn’t have time for men until the sexy biker comes along. Both Tank and Lena are immediately enamored with each other with a sizzling chemistry that won’t quit. But both are keeping secrets. The club is in turmoil with brother against brother and what was old is new again. Corrupt public officials, crooked businessmen and residents in danger brings intrigue to the story. The conflicts within the club are an interesting development with a couple of good fights. The resolution happened relatively easily and I was disappointed it didn’t play out a little more. The romance happened fairly quickly with plenty of sexual intensity. I like the brothers that had Tank’s back. Tank is a sexy brother with an easy going personality that had Lena melting from the beginning. She was not easy to tie down and made Tank work for it. This was a quick, easy read with good club intrigue and a sexy couple. While this one wasn’t my favorite, I look forward to the next installment in this exciting MC series.
