MY REVIEW:
What a set up?! A criminal bad boy, a beautiful good girl and a heated first meet. Jay is a dark, mysterious underworld kingpin with tons of money and mystery. Heβs cold, cold and cruel. He gets what he wants and he wants Stella, in his bed, at least for a while. A cold arrangement with a hot outcome. I loved Stellaβs backbone when she used it but I didnβt quite understand her thrall of Jay. Sure, he was all about control and power but I didnβt feel it. His character was flat to me. He didnβt become interesting until late in the book when we find out a few details about him and his business. I wasnβt feeling that either. You know who I did swoon over? Jayβs sexy henchman Karson. I hope he gets a story with the powerhouse Wren, Stellaβs friend. One of the wonderful parts to the story was Stellaβs girlfriends. Even though I didnβt much care for Jay and this story I kept reading because I wanted to know where this couple ended up. There was an explosion at end with Jay being an ass and Stella crushed. But I loved Stellaβs response to Jayβs harsh cruelty. Another thing that was disappointing was the sex scenes. They werenβt that interesting to me. A little formulaic to me with some BDSM thrown in. While this didnβt quite work for me I am looking forward to the next book for more Jay and Stella and my fav Karson.
