MY REVIEW:
That ending was everything!! But first we get a story that picks up where the first one left off. The danger and suspense is palatable as Ronan and Poppy run from the evil after her in the wake of her destroyed life. And a surprise twist that’s a huge game changer and Ronan and Poppy hitting another level in their tortured relationship. I love this series as well as every one in this outstanding Midnight Dynasty anthology. This might be my favorite. I wasn’t familiar with this author’s work until now and I love it. Her characters are layered and the development subtle and nuanced. Ronan was spectacular the first moment he popped off the pages as Caroline Constantine’s junkyard dog. A beautiful killer with a shattered heart buried deep. It seems to only beat for Poppy. What a beautiful, tragic love story these two have. We find out a few things about Ronan’s horrible past and one thing that will change his future. Poppy is a beautiful soul with so much goodness and sweetness. I love her character and her love for her protector is heart achingly romantic even when it’s a lost cause. We do find out the reason Ronan resisted his overwhelming attraction to Poppy. This author found unique ways for the couple to enjoy their sexual encounters without doing the deed. Panty melting hotness! We also learn more about one Morelli that’s interesting. This ends in a jaw dropping cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next story to see how our couple deals with what’s coming. Superb writing, magnificent characters and a storyline ful of suspense, action, danger and hot romance. A must read!
