MY REVIEW:
Oh, the Beast and his Darling! A heart wrenching follow up to the amazing first story in this Midnight Dynasty series had me at the first intensely agonizing opening sentences with Leo in pain and Haley watching over him. The treacherous Ronin put the Beast down but not for long. The strength of Leo is so impressive when one after the other injury befalls him. Even if he’s a dastardly beast as he brings forth Haley’s tears. He loves her tears and she loves crying for him, but not when he’s in pain. Only for his pleasure. This author writing is so intense with heart pounding darkness and gut wrenching harshness from detailing the horrors of Leo’s past to the pain of Haley’s devotion to Leo’s heroism for his siblings. This story has our couple growing closer as Leo protects them from their enemies and he opens up a little to Haley. Her understanding of the formation of the Beast of Bishop’s Landing brings her closer to Leo even if her family played a large part in his story. There were a few poignant moments between the couple along with the heart stopping cruelty of Leo’s passion. Dark, dark, dark! There are some advancements in the story with a few reveals and one heart stopping betrayal at the end that leaves Haley in peril and Leo roaring in beast mode. Another cliffhanger has me jonesing for the next installment in this fantastic series. Absolutely fabulous!
