MY REVIEW:
A fantastic conclusion to this brutal mafia romance. The enemies are brutal, the family drama is brutal and the romance is doubly brutal. This picks up where the first book left off with Celia missing and that WTF reveal of Celia’s half brother. What a stunner that was. Not only his identity but his conception was another brutality in this story. Nic is in monster mode as he tracks down Celia after he decides to keep her. Yup, the sale is off and the buyer is not happy and is out for revenge. That’s only one enemy gunning for the Diavolo family. They’re stacking up and out to take down Nic. Meanwhile, Nic is as brutal in his love as ever. He’s going to take what he wants but he’ll try to make you like it. It’s up to Celia whether she’ll be tortured or turned on. Even with all her hate she drawn to the madman. Some of Nic’s antics were almost too much for me with the dub-con and non-con. Usually, Celia ceded with passion before it got too ugly. She is a firecracker of defiance even when she was struggling with her attraction to the monster. I loved her strength. There are twists and turns and bloody battles as Nic and his crew fight for retribution for the heinous acts against his family. The most grievous of the enemies is Celia’s father. Will Nic finally best he enemy? He thought taking Celia would be the ultimate revenge. A softer side of Nic comes out as he works to make Celia fall for him. He was sweet at time with his care and comfort but never with his passion. He can be a harsh lover with just the right touch. Nic and Celia turned into a sexy couple with a spectacular passion. Great secondary characters in Nic’s brother Lucas and his right hand man Soo. I hope we get stories for both. Lucas is a broken mass of hate and fierceness. This is an exciting mafia romance with lots of action, intrigue, hate and love. But be warned, the romance is part sexy swoon and part cringy brutality. Worth the read!
