MY REVIEW:
A terrific second installment that picks up right where the first one left off with Zander and Ella’s relationship in jeopardy. Ella is still fragile and reeling after the betrayal by a close confident. But she did stand up for herself when push came to shove. Yeah! She fought for Zander and they resume their D/s relationship. Neither is new to this world but neither seems ready for an emotional involvement. There are still so many secrets with these two that play out in the story and Zander decides he’s been to easy on Ella and pushes her to unlock her secrets in an effort to heal. Zander got a few demons of his own and a tortured past that continues to haunt him. Zander and his brother Cade are in a bad place also as a result of Zander’s overstep. That’s another interesting relationship in the story. The suspense ramps up as the past comes to light and feelings begin to change as Zander and Ella move from hot to scorching under his dominant hand. The romance is sizzling and the mystery continues as Ella struggles to overcome her trauma. Their love will be hard won if they can get past their brokenness and settle into an intense D/s relationship. This writing duo comes through again with another unpredictable story with complicated characters in a unique situation. I love the guys of The Firm and hope we get future stories with these hotties. I can’t wait for the conclusion of this enthralling series.
