MY REVIEW: Intriguing mafia romance with interesting characters and loads of conflict. One of the best relationships in the story is the one between the girlfriends. Our heroine Brianna and her besties, mafia babes Marissa and Daphne. Brianna has a lot going on, almost too much for me. Besides beginning a young single mother to a sick daughter, she’s a ballerina, a ballet teacher, an author and a secretary. Add in a budding romance to an Italian mafia boss and she’s a busy gal. Plus all the secrets she has with her ride or die besties that she trying to keep under wraps. When the much older Matteo steps into her path her future is set when the mafia boss becomes enamored with the young beauty. It starts out hot and only gets hotter. I really liked the sexy, bossy, domineering Matteo even with his unlikely insta feelings for Brianna. His right-hand man Antonio and nephew Giovanni were intriguing as well. Then there’s the rival Irish mob with their hot boss Declan. He has a sexy tie to the one of our gals. The story plays out with the secrets being slowly revealed and the danger ramping up with Brianna and daughter Emma at the center. This story is long for me with several villainous plots and several romances. I thought we might get a second and third stories with these fabulous characters but Marissa and Daphne’s romances play out in this story. There’s exciting suspense and danger as the secrets come out and the girls fight for a cure for little Emma. It takes a village to heal the youngster. This kept my attention even if it was a little long. There’s wasn’t a lot of repetition which was good and I liked the different POVs. A different kind of mafia romance with terrific characters and steamy love. Worth the read!
