MY REVIEW:
Dark, decedent and disturbing! Everything I love about an Underground Kings story with The Society component. This story had a few intriguing elements along with what I would expect from a The Society dark romance. The heroine is such a mystery at the beginning with a physical limitation caused by a horrific trauma that lead her on a dangerous path. Natalia was a mixture of strong and soft and her mission was a secret that has me glue to the pages waiting for the reveal. Who is she and what is she after? What she ended getting was a sexy man that runs hot and cold. The hero Alessio had an interesting take on his sexuality due to his traumatic past and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. It definitely added a twist to his relationship with Natalia. I’ve read a few of The Society dark romances so I’m familiar with their customs, rules and hierarchy which added to my enjoyment of this story. There are some really gruesome scenes with torture and murder that’s disturbing and so dark! I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what Natalia’s story was and what Alessio’s response would be when the truth come out. There was a thread of danger throughout the story and the ending was a fast paced race to keep Natalia and Nino safe. Little Nino was a sweet part of the story. There is terrific suspense and intrigue with these deadly members of The Society and the romance was something a little different. The other The Society stories I’ve read were a lot more brutal when it come to the romance. A page turner with sexy lovers uncovering secrets and lies. Fabulous dark romance!
