The universe isn’t done with Vaslav Pashkov just yet …
Perhaps marrying a man whose secrets weren’t entirely revealed wasn’t the smartest choice of Vera Avdonin’s life, but her new husband makes the decision hard to regret.
Even when it brings agony.
Yet, not even wedded bliss and love is enough to keep Vera from peeling back the remaining layers of Vaslav’s past and truth—and there are always consequences for what she might find.
The price of loving a man like this one is high.
The Breath Before Forever is the final Vaslav/Vera book in The Beast of Moscow saga and should not be read as a standalone. Read after books 1, 2, and 3. TW: Pregnancy Loss.
Satisfying ending to this beautiful mafia romance. The sad reality of Vas’ past and future is heartbreaking as his loving wife learns more about him and tries to make his present a happy place. With marriage the love grows and Vas opens up a little more about the heartbreak with his past wife and his awful mother. He’s still plagued with illness as he moves forward with a bold change in his life. Can he really get out? There’s danger with his plan and when it hits it’s devastating. A loved is left in a horrible position, a trusted comrade in pain and Vera suffers a loss. That sets the Beast on a path of retaliation and revenge. The good news it that Kiril is back. Yay! I like this young man with his sass at Vas and hope he gets a story in the future. Vas and Vera are as hot for each other as ever and we get a few sexy scenes with outrageous heat. Sizzling! I loved the growth in Vas and Vera’s relationship and when the unexpected happens at the end it’s so heart melting. This started a little slow but as it continued I was hooked into this continuation of this mafia romance and then it just kind of ended. It didn’t seem finished to me. Maybe we’ll get an extended epilogue at some point in the future. Vera is a strong, beautiful heroine with the fortitude to love the Beast. I really loved Vas. He was a different antihero with a meanness that is crushing and a brutality that’s was well earned. I loved this series. Worth the read!
