MY REVIEW:
WTF?! I knew Lucas would be a trip but this was out there and I loved it. He was such a mesmerizing character in Keir and Sailorโs duet with his killer madness and give-a-crap attitude. Occasionally he listened to cousin Keir as the boss of the family but other than him Lucas is irreverent and brutal and did his own thing. An original for sure. Everyone follows Lucasโ orders because heโs crazy and a KILLER. Then thereโs Chanel. A prostitute with no Fs to give and a sad life. She gives it right back to Lucas and of course heโs intrigued. No one talks back to him without repercussions. The blood flows and dead bodies stack up when Lucas takes care of business for the family and his own interests plus he needs to own Chanel through any means even intimidation and threats. I loved Chanel! Sassy, fearless and about as crazy as Lucas. I didnโt know what these two would do from one minute to the next. Thereโs a delicious push/pull and a slow build to the romance. Mostly they bickered and fought as Lucas tried to have his way with her. Chanel is ready to go legit when an opportunity comes her way thanks to Keir. This rocked along with Lucas trying to get his sinful hands on Chanel and Chanel avoiding him, mostly. When she caved it was sexy hot! Thereโs a mystery that unfolds later in the story with Chanel at the center and Lucas doing the unthinkable. I couldnโt believe it! There must be something else afoot because itโs too heartbreaking to think he would actually do that to Chanel. Ugh! He cannot be that unfeeling. I loved this dark, gritty, and bloody mafia romance with crazy characters in Chanel and Lucas. Great secondary characters in Chanelโs younger brother and her bestie. I canโt wait for the next part after that shocker ending. So good!
