MY REVIEW:
Absolutely wonderful! What a terrific start to a new series with my girl Helen! Hells Bells is one of my favorite from the Savage high school series and Iโve been waiting for her story. She is a fabulous character as one of the crew with her dudes, Gabe and Bash, those bad boys from the Savage Crew series. This is definitely a standalone but I love that I already knew her from the previous stories as the spunky skater gurl working at Savage Wheelz. Iโm a little sad that she left that workplace behind but sheโs moved on to college thanks to a benevolent benefactor. A little to convenient for me but Helen was due for a bit of good luck which is what Madeleine represents. She also moves on to something much darker with her new job but Helen will do what she has to to survive and protect those she loves. Thatโs a small number and at the top is her little sister. That leads her to interact with the local thugs, brothers Reno and Amir. Both are bad news but one is just nasty and the other is a bit of a sexy antihero. Yup, a new side to Amir popped up and there was a mysterious encounter with Helenโs lovely new dorm mate, Zadie. The other roommate was a shock when the queen biatch shows up. Elena was a great part of the story and I think she deserves a story. The story introduces several new characters for this series. In addition to Helenโs dorm mates thereโs the mysterious Lock. I canโt wait for his story. It would too good if his love for the biker bar turned into a new biker series thatโs gritty and dirty and darker than anything this outstanding author has done. Yikes, I havenโt even mentioned the to-die-for hero of the story. Theo *swoon* is so perfect for Helen. I couldnโt believe he broke through her hard shell to find her soft. This couple is a delicious duo as they circle each other and fall into a friends with benefits relationship. Both have so much baggage thatโs so heavy. We know all about Helenโs but Theoโs was surprising. For me there were a few holes in his backstory but it didnโt affect my enjoyment of this story. I love this authorโs storytelling and her characters that come to life and burrow into my heart. I also love that she gives us a big story with lots of chapters. This was a page turner with a dream couple in Helen and Theo, a bit of humor, some dark danger and nasty villains, and a spicy, swoon worthy romance. Plus the old crew makes a few appearances. I loved it! A must read!
