As president of the Steel Berserkers Motorcycle Club, Hoyt Macready has long controlled McMurdo Valley. These days, he lives a comfortable life at the top. All he’s missing is a solid assistant to organize his schedule. Hoyt isn’t ready for the gorgeous, broken woman who takes the job.

MY REVIEW: Thoroughly entertaining! This is quite the page turner that grabbed my attention right from the start with the unique characters and dynamic storytelling. While the story had the usual raunchy brothers, club girls, rowdy clubhouse, and terrific brotherhood with the club involved in legal and illegal endeavors it was mostly a backdrop for the romance story. Hoyt is the MC president and the mayor of the town that he rules. He’s a bossy brute with a berserker alter ego. His backstory about taking control of the county was terrific but the story behind the formation of the Steel Berserkers was a head scratcher. Why a biker club? I guess that’s neither here nor there just a question. Selene and her sister are new to town with painful pasts where they were abused. These sisters were unusual. Fragile, broken, disturbed and sad. Hoyt needs an assistant to help him with his mayor duties and hires Selene. Their connection is immediate and grows into something sweet and sexy even with the trauma of Selena’s past. I liked that while Selene did grow as a person, she didn’t change from a timid, soft woman like so many heroines that change into fierce and sassy. The secondary characters are fabulous with a couple of standouts. I loved Hoyt’s sister Wynonna, his cousin Kourtney and his daughter Joie. The brothers were a terrific bunch and I look forward to more stories. This is a slow build romance with just enough violence, danger, and brutality in keeping with a gritty MC. Loved it!
