Dark, dark, dark! Fantastic second story in this thrilling college series. Elite private universities, one British and one American, gang-like clubs, fierce rivalries, and, of course, an illegal underground fight club. And the characters are over-the-top, leap-off-the-pages exciting. The romance in this one is between Brit bad boy Creighton and American Bratva princess Annika. He’s a cold as ice guy with a really dark dominant side and a painful past with secrets. He lives for pain, mostly giving it and when the sweet, bubbly princess keeps pestering him he decides to give her a taste of his dominance. It’s brutal but Anni is ready to break out of her stifling life. Too much protectiveness with her brother and father even if their concerns are warranted. These folks live violent, brutal lives with bloody battles, evil enemies and death. There were a few harsh scenes that had me cringing but mostly it was a sexy romance that had moments of sweetness as the relationship grows. Of course with the warring schools, clubs, etc. it’s fraught with secrecy and fighting and hatred. Creigh and Anni have a long hill to climb with tons of obstacles. I like this setup and the fabulous characters. Lots of bad boys and cool girls ready to mix it up and break the rules. Loads of family in the series both generational and familial and ride or die friends. Sensational! I look forward to the next installment. Loved this one!
