When he works for a rival realty office, and she’s the PA who’s had a secret crush, what could go wrong when they both get stuck in a wild storm at a lake house?
Mister Curb Appeal, an all-new Friends to Lovers, Workplace romance from bestselling authors Mackenzy and Dakotah Fox is now available!
When he works for a rival realty office, and she’s the PA who’s had a secret crush, what could go wrong when they both get stuck in a wild storm at a lake house?
Joshua Lucas is the immaculate, sexy, bachelor and the eldest son in his dad’s firm: Lucas Property Brothers LA. I’ve always admired him, and not just his cute buns in those designer suits he wears. He’s funny. Charismatic. And his phone voice is swoony worthy. Pity we work for opposing realtor offices and I have to keep my hands off.
When my boss calls in sick for a big showing, I’m sent to Lake Haven to close the deal for a famous actress.
Getting the city grit out of my hair feels like a mini-vacay… That is until I walk in on Joshua in the shower of the Airbnb.
It turns out his dad and my boss (who are a couple) didn’t tell either of us we’d both be there.
Throw in my mischievous tabby cat, a storm from hell, plus a deal I have to land, and we’ve got ourselves one hot mess.
All we have to do is keep our hands off one another this weekend, but that’s becoming increasingly difficult when I’ve already seen Joshua Lucas naked and he’s looking at me with those bedroom eyes I can’t resist.
I don’t know how long I can hold out, or if breaking all the rules could stay just between the two of us… it’s one weekend, no one has to know, right?

“I fucking love you, Lexi Kennedy,” I say, not giving a shit how it sounds out loud. I’ve wasted “enough time, and she needs to know.
Her lips part as I pull back, her cheeks pinkening. “You… you do?”
“I’ve never said that to anyone before.”
“Not even Melinda?”
I chuckle. “You’re bringing up my ex after I just told you I love you?”
She winces. “God, I’m sorry, Josh. That sounded really pathetic. It’s just, she told me what a great guy you were, and I already knew all of that, but when an ex speaks so highly of the person you love with all your heart—”
My heart jolts and I swear I almost fall at her feet. “You love me back?”
“Yes!” she whispers. “Josh, I’ve loved you ever since that first day when you brought cupcakes to the office after you made that deal with Ali, and there was that mix up and they got sent to the office next door, then you ordered more when you found out.”
“That was three years ago.” I swallow hard. “You remember that?”
“Remember?” she scoffs. “You were wearing a peacoat and a Burberry scarf, it was a really cold day, and your hair was a little longer… and I sound like a complete stalker.”
