A modern telling of a classic tale…
This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.
❤️ My Review
I love K. Webster’s sexy, smutty, hot heroes and Heath is no exception. She writes the best of the baddest and this writing partnership has created a wonderfully tragic hero in an enthralling story as old as time about a poor sexy boy, Heath, and the beautiful wealthy debutant, Catrina, that he loves beyond all else. A tragic event forces the lovers to a different path than he had planned. Heath is left homeless and jobless without the means to finish school and prepare for a future with Catrina. Catrina chooses her social status, lifestyle and wealth over Health but she probably would have anyway because regardless of Heath’s achievements he would never be “old money” and in her class. I wanted to scream! How could she leave hard hunky Heath for the soft calculating Elliot? She should have had faith that he was smart enough to provide for her and save her father’s business. I loved Heath at the beginning of the story but as he pores everything into a revenge plot he changes and not in a good way. So tragic! I know I’m in the minority but I love stories that don’t have a HEA. Even though our star-crossed lovers, Catrina and Heath don’t have a happy ending, the secondary story of Emily and Finn rocks.
