MY REVIEW:

A thrilling setup in the world of elite escort services where the wealthy can buy any fantasy. It’s not a new premise but the author’s descriptive writing provides a spectacular visual feast of beauty and opulence. Cavendish is owned and operated by four dynamic women and one badass man. Dimi, the head of Security, was helped by the mysterious Yuki when he was struggling in Russia in exchange for his loyalty. His dream is MMA but he’s trained in everything IT which puts him in the unique position of knowing everything that happens at Cavendish. He’s a likable hero as the hunk that catches the eye of new recruit and poor med student, Anya. She’s a former Russian transplant and has that in common with the stoic Dimi. Other than their shared homeland I didn’t really feel a connection between the two and even the sexy times weren’t that outstanding for me. I liked Anya with her big brain and quite beauty. She’s is focused on becoming a doctor and won’t be swayed from her chosen path. The prologue introducing Yuki was a little bazaar and the weirdest around her father was disquieting. Too much for me and when her plan for revenge was put in motion at all costs I really didn’t like her. Her partners were interesting and I can see their stories as intriguing additions to this start of the series. Some of the story seemed disjointed and details didn’t square up. I liked the scientific parts of the story with the technology and onboard evaluations with the new recruits. The drama at the end with Anya I could see coming from a mile away and Dimi’s rescue a given. The story kind of ended abruptly with some elements left for future stories. All in all it was entertaining enough to keep me reading but I was left wanting more from the romance and kept waiting for the other shoe to drop in the mystery and intrigue portion. I plan on giving the next installment a go.

About the Author:

Lenore Ashwood is a steamy contemporary romance author who believes if you’re not squirming in your seat, she’s not doing her job.

She lives in the U.S. but considers herself a global citizen. She believes in sex positivity, human kindness, and the kind of girl power the Spice Girls sing about.

Lenore is best known for her wildly innovative Cavendish Club series, featuring stories of the ultra-affluent who seek unusual services at an elite escort agency.
