Blog Tour: The Not-Outcast by Tijan! + My Review + Excerpt

The Not-Outcast and all-new emotional slow burn romance from New York Times bestselling author Tijan is available now!

Cutler Ryder was everything I wasn’t.
He was the hockey star. I was an outcast.
He was best friends with my stepbrother, that same stepbrother who hated me.
His two parents loved him. My mom was a junkie. My dad barely knew me.

Years passed.
I got my life together.
Cut went onto NHL stardom.

Then there was a text.
I was drinking.
There was a party.
Cut was there…

I loved Cutler Ryder since the first moment I saw him.
The only problem? He never knew I existed.

Excerpt

“Stars. You made me meet them.”

I was still seeing them. His eyes. So smoldering.

He continued to stare at me, as if seeing me for the first time.

I tensed.

Maybe he was regretting this? Was my one-night stand a one-night finger bang instead?

I tried to stem the disappointment, but… Okay.

A girl had coping mechanisms. I could pull mine up, if I needed to. I was hoping I didn’t need to. I didn’t know how I’d handle that either. Then he must’ve made his decision.

He readjusted his hold on me, standing back from the door and his mouth twitched. “One rule.”

“Yeah?”

I was about to see stars again.

“Don’t call me dude again.”

MY REVIEW:

So much heart! Heart aching, heart throbbing and heart melting. This is one of favorite stories from this talented author. Cheyenne is a marvel with her heartbreaking background and the devastating effects that dictates her forever. I don’t have any first hand experience with a person with Cheyenne’s issues but the author does a fabulous job of bringing to life the struggles that seems authentic. I was pulled in right from the beginning with Cheyenne’s unusual thought process and her special reality with a hint of humor. I fell in love with her immediately. And what’s not to love about a sexy, pretty boy hockey superstar? Cut is a hunky phenom with a beautiful heart when it comes to Cheyenne. Their relationship is sweet and heart melting. This story is so much more than a romance. The beautiful friendship between Cheyenne and her besties Sasha and Melanie is one of the best parts to this story. The three are terrific fun and irreverent naughtiness. Of course, there are baddies in the story in Cheyenne’s ex-stepbrother Chad and sperm donor Deek. I loved her minute of Cheyenne’s journey to her perfect man and a future that is so deserving. This author always gives us a stellar heroine with an emotional story that comes to life with exceptional storytelling. Cheyenne is that and more. Lots of emotion, light on the angst and heavy on the love. A must read!
