Fantastic high school bully romance! The rats and the riches divided by a river and so much more. It’s the classic rich girl versus poor boy but with a few twists. A group of poor boys aka rats are planning to cross the river and make a better life by hook or crook until an opportunity falls in their laps. A scheme to outdo her rival, the riches principal brings in a few rats to ‘school’ them to the finer things. A physiological experiment. The principal’s daughter, Phobie plans to use one of the rats to derail her nemesis and rat Liam is just the one. Or so she thinks. Liam’s got different plans. He’s the king of the rats and a sexy beast. He’ll do what it takes to get his way. Blackmail, ruin and destruction are his methods. Yeah, great set up that has Phobie and Liam in close proximity and it’s on. Quick friends that turns into more. I love that both Liam and Phobie have a group of ride n die friends. The beginning has quite a few chapters with the background for both groups and there’s not much romance until the end but all in all it’s a terrific start to a new series with a swoon worthy group of girls and guys. The story in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next installment to see where this goes. An added bonus, being from the US I really enjoy a story written in British English with all the slang and differences.
