MY REVIEW:
Magnificent degenerate! That’s Samael aka Malum to the letters. The big reveal took place in the last book and now we get Mal and Lilith’s love story. It’s dark and obsessive and thrilling. I love this new generation of Savages. They strike out on their own to become something different and somehow more degenerate than their parents, the Savages. Mal is the epitome of this new breed. As he makes a place for himself in the Badlands and builds a kingdom, he does very bad things to get to the top without any remorse. He’s making a place fit for his queen, Lilith. It’s certainly not a fairytale love. Mal is obsessively possessive and it’s brilliant. Nothing layered just plain old dominance. He’s got his secrets that drive Lilith to do the wrong thing. But his mantra is to always keep her safe even if she doesn’t like it. Like all the other stories in this fabulous series it takes a strong stomach for some of scenes. Yuck! But underneath all the disturbing nastiness is a beautiful love story. Mal is a strong character and one of my favorites. His secret benefactor is reveal along with a few other surprises. It’s a page turner with all the elements that make this series outstanding. I loved the ending and epilogues where get get to see the Savages. I can’t wait for the next installment. Cam is next and it looks to be ultra disturbing. Depravity at its best!
