I stared out onto the city, well aware that even if it were daylight, no one would be able to see in here. It made me feel our isolation more, and I loved it.
Wanted it.
Craved more.
Needed like Iād never needed before.
Then, everything changed.
It was quite accidental.
A sharp turn around a bend had us jostling into each other. Nothing crazy. But our hands slipped, and the edge of mine brushed against his crotch.
He had a hard-on.
He had a hard-on, yet he wasnāt pawing at me. Wasnāt treating me like I was a whore. Was holding me as if I were the opposite, in fact.
His control was lust-inducing.
His arousal was inspiring.
And I wanted both.
I wanted his control ruptured.
His arousal burned off.
On me.
I turned my face to the side, letting my lips press against his throat. His pulse bobbed as a result and as I let my tongue dart out to play, he groaned, and I felt the soft vibrations. Encouraged, I sucked down, nipping and teasing as I made my way up, soft kisses dancing against the line of his jaw where I could feel the slight bumps of stubble that would begin to grow soon.
Finally, I found his mouth. Reaching up with my free hand, I encouraged him to tilt his head downward so our lips could meet.
A whimper escaped me when they did.
It felt as if Iād been waiting a lifetime for this moment, for the meeting of our mouths, for this kiss. Time stopped still, everything in me freezing as my body processed the rightness of the connection between us.
MY REVIEW:
Another thrilling mafia story from this talented author. She always gives us delicious characters and an exciting story full of intensity, danger, action and heart pounding romance. Her mafia romances are what my dark little heart loves to read and this one is spectacular. It features some of the wonderful characters from the Filthy series and the dangerous OāDonnelly family. Jen is the unrepentant gold digger (her words not mine) and OāDonnelly-adjacent as Aoifeās bestie. A surprise reveal puts Jen closer than we thought. Sheās fabulous as a gal that knows what she wants and goes for it. She does have a strange relationship with sex though. Wasnāt crazy about that detail but it was different. A new Sicilian Don has taken his rightful place in charge of the NY Italian mafia. Luciu is a delicious hunk with a darkness thatās mesmerizing and panty melting. Heās smitten right from the first encounter with Jen. He goes after what he wants too and he wants Jen. She wants no part of the mafia but heās too delicious to resist. I love Luciu and his family especially brother Stan. This story is full of intense danger as Luciu fights to hold his place as the new Don and keep his territory intact and his enemies at bay. Plus Jenās got a few dangers too. Luc and Jenās connection is passionate and sexy but thereās love forming as the two lean on each other for emotional support. Itās hot and sweet and heart throbbing! This ends in a cliffhanger with Luciu torn from Jenās loving arms and in the hands of an enemy. I canāt wait for the next story in this thrilling duet. Loved it!
