MY REVIEW:
I love anything and everything in this Midnight Dynasty anthology series so I was all in with this story. I recommend reading the novella Damage Control, which is now free, before reading this story. It’s not necessary; just a little backstory about Finn and Eva. I love, love, love Eva. The long suffering oldest sister of the dangerous Morelli family. She works tirelessly to support and care for her brothers and sisters plus her needy mother while trying to avoid her nasty father’s wrath. Bryant Morelli is a mean one and everyone in his path suffers. I so wanted Eva story to be epic but this isn’t it so far. It’s a sexy romance with a bit of sweetness but nothing like the dark sizzling romances in this anthology. I really like Finn and when he stands up to Bryant it’s thrilling. He’s sexy, smart and super wealthy with tons of charm. Finn appears to be a playboy of epic proportions but it’s a facade that’s hiding a serious issue. It’s not hard to figure out the twist in the story with Finn’s heavy problem, so the ending wasn’t a big surprise. There’s drama to come in the next story though. I love seeing all the terrific Morelli siblings as Eva helps out and provides support. This story is mostly about family drama on both sides with a fake romance that turns into more. I look forward to the next installment in this series where I’m sure there will be fireworks, hurt feelings and tons of emotion. Can’t wait!
