MY REVIEW:
Well, I didn’t know if I could get there with Killian aka Killer aka Kill aka Satan’s Heir. The nicknames say it all. This guy is awful. If the author was going for a supremely unlikable antihero she got there. She did issue a warning but it isn’t often that an antihero turns me off. This one did until later in the story and then he was a swoon worthy mess of dominance and brutality. Now the heroine was a totally different story. So sweet and beautiful and wonderful with a few demons. A very likable college girl with a challenging family. I liked this first story in this new series with a bunch of intriguing college kids that come from a brutal side of life. Sure, most of it is a suspension of reality but it’s a fun read but lots of violent and harsh actions. The setup with two colleges on an island off the coast of England is interesting. One is full of British students and the other is USA. There’s gangs and rivals and loads of hatred, so of course students from the rivals fall in love. Killian is American and sweet Glyndon is British. They met by chance after a tragedy that left Glyn reeling in depression and sadness. Kill goes for the kill with his dubcon antics. He’s just awful! But slowly these two turn into a dynamic couple as Glyn softens Kill’s violent urges and Kill helps Glyn turn into the powerful young woman she is underneath her self doubt. Oh, he still tortures her but it turns into a good thing. A hot, passionate, panty melting thing. There’s a good mystery with a surprise twist. It’s intense and brutal as the rivals fight for dominance. This is a next generation series and we get glimpses of the parents where it all started. I really like this group of guys and gals and look forward to more stories in this unique setting. I’m looking forward to Creigton’s story. He’s a dark, brooding hunk. Can’t wait!
