MY REVIEW:
Wow! I will admit it took me a minute to get into the story but by the end I was yelling for more. More of brutish Dom, more of upstanding Luca, more of the escalating danger, more of the intense mafia war, and especially more of the hot encounters between Dom and Luca. Dom was unlikable at the beginning for me. He was so brutal and dominant and unfeeling. The kidnapping was the ultimate in awful behavior. Ugh, I could only hope he turned a corner and oh boy did he ever. A sexy turn with burn-my-eyes-out heat. On the flip side Luca was naive and caring and seemed too soft. I love it when Luca found his fierce side and push back, much to Dom’s amazement. The tension and sexual chemistry kept building between the two and when the explosion hit it was incendiary. Along side the budding romance is the mafia feud that is steeped blood and hatred. There’s a mystery about the feud but we get a few clues. Poor Luca had no idea about his true bloodline and he’s caught in the middle. Falling for the enemy in a war he wants no part of. On the flip side is Dom. It’s unthinkable that he would have a relationship with a man much less an enemy. Yeah, he’s twisted up. This ends with a huge cliffhanger that left one in danger and the other willing to do anything to get him back. Some authors do MM romance really good while others just seem to swap a gender without matching the subtleties of a same sex romance. I happy to report that these authors do it right. Hard, hot and a bit brutal. Yes! I loved it and can’t wait for the next installment. A must read!
