Terrific start to a new mafia series! Sexy and exciting with a group of hunky brutes and one fierce beauty, the Kingpins. Even though this is a new series and this story can be read as a standalone, it crisscrosses with other thrilling stories and series from this talented author. There are so many fabulous characters and families included in this story that we met in previous stories. Three of those characters are part of the quad squad, a group of feisty young women who until recently didn’t know they were part of the underworld. The fourth of the squad is our heroine Wynter Star. Known as the ice princess figure skater Wyn lived for skating and her fab friends until a Romeo and Juliet moment had her meeting her prince charming or villain charming. If you follow this author’s stories then you known the hero/antihero as one of those evil Italians, the DiLustros. There’s Basilio, his cousins Dante and Priest along sister Emory that makeup the Kingpins. Bas is a dark brute with a chilling viciousness that is attributable to his horrible father. The only light in his life is the young beauty that fell into his arms. Oh, what a glorious romance that begins between the two. The romance follows the swoon worthy formula from this author that never gets old. It’s sizzling and sweet and panty melting and passionate. Then the worst happens and Wynter runs away making Bas go ballistic. The drama that ensues brings out all the players as rivals are at each other throats and bodies pile up. It all comes to a head and ends with thrills and danger and one evil bad guy getting his due. Finally! There was a bit of repetition in the story but that could be because I’ve read so many of these fabulous mafia romances from this author. But it doesn’t get old with this big group of families and friends and cohorts and adversaries. There are twists and surprises and could this group get anymore tied to each other? There are a few more connections revealed and surprise relations. I loved this group of girlfriends from the moment they appeared in a previous story with their wild antics and sassy banter and their plans for the future are spectacular. It looks like the make Kingpins are matched up for future stories with only Emory’s love interest outstanding. I vote for Killian, Wynter’s cousin and a big Irish brute. Yum! I love this new addition to this fantastic author’s stories and can’t wait for the next installment. Terrific epilogue with delightful peeks of the future. I honestly can’t wait for the next generation of deviants and delinquents. This one is worth the read!
