Fantastic follow up to The Sinner, the first book in this world of angels and demons and the humans they ruin and romance. I loved Ambri in the first story and was excited for his story and oh boy, it is a heartbreaker. His backstory is gut wrenching and intensely emotional. Even before I read the author’s note at the end I knew from the writing that Emma Scott was in a dark place and poured her feelings into this story of depression and self worth. Ambri’s love interest Cole is in a dark place when the story opens that leads to the demons grabbing hold of him. It’s so emotional, distressing and heartbreaking and that’s when Ambri enters his life. What starts out as a plan for Cole’s ruin soon turns into a sexy romance. Yum! These two hot hunks are delicious together. Of course, love comes at a cost and for Ambri it’s horrifying. Can a demon be redeemed? Yes, they can with a little help and lots of love. I really like this world the author has given us with the nasty demons and the angels at the ready for those deserving of redemption. And the humans are special too. I loved the glimpses of Lucy and Cas from The Sinner. I hope we get another story in this fantastic world. This one is worth the read!
