MY REVIEW:
Dark and twisted! A thrilling second story in this mesmerizing series. A secret society full of nasty old men with perverted tastes and a mission to fulfilling their society’s legacy. Dominant men and submissive women and anything goes. You could read this as a stand-alone but you’ll miss the introduction of this class of initiates and some of the history. This story features the sullen Sully. Usually drunk with a bad attitude and a scowl on his face. He’s not happy and hates the Order and all it stands for but he owes to his sister to keep his family’s legacy. The only way is to complete the trials with his belle. What a belle he picked! The fabulous Portia. She’s a firecracker with a passel of younger sisters to take care of. A go-getter with a tender heart and a fierce nature. There’s no quitting for her or her partner so Sully needs to get over himself and get with the program. There’s a lot at stake for both of them. It took a minute for me to get on board with this couple (I thought Portia deserved better) but they are hot with a sizzling sexual chemistry. As the trials continued and Sully became more protective these two were on fire. Soon a tenderness bloomed between them along with the rough passion. We get all of Portia and Sully’s secrets as they are determined to complete the trials and win. There are a few twisted sexual events in the story that are not for the faint of heart. I ended up really liking Sully and his care of Portia was heart-throbbingly sexy and sweet. Thrills, chills, yuk stuff, hot sex and sweet love. I look forward to the next installment in this darkly entrancing series.
