Blurb:

An epic mafia romance trilogy that sets a new bar for just how dark a hero can get, from NY Times Bestselling author CD Reiss.

Some girls dream of marrying a prince, but I never imagined I’d be sold to a king.

Santino DiLustro.

The king.

The monster.

The keeper of secrets.

When he forced me to marry him, I cried for love I’d never know.

When he locked me away, I cried for the freedom I lost forever.

Every other tear I’ve shed is for my soul, because I’m falling for the devil himself.

MY REVIEW:

Spellbinding! A terrific slow build, sizzling romance with delicious characters in the King, Santino and the young innocent, Violetta. I love this author’s storytelling and she takes us back to her fabulous Camorra world. So many secrets as the young Violetta is given to Santino as his bride much to her surprise and horror. She was raised as a progressive American and the old world culture is not for her. But she has no choice but to protect her family and marry the much older crime boss. Santino is a divine hunk with a beautiful exterior who revels in his vicious power. He’s a dangerous brute with a soft spot for his new bride while she just wants her old life as a college student. She’s a sassy young woman with a painful past. It’s an intense arranged mafia marriage but the relationship between the couple is a sizzling slow build that culminates into a sweetly sexy consummation that’s so hot. There’s danger and subterfuge and layers of secrecy that’s all pointed at Violetta. Most of the action happens later in the story with a jaw dropping ending that leaves Violetta heartbroken and Santino scrambling to make her understand. I figured out a few secrets and I didn’t understand how the smart Violetta couldn’t see part of the truth. I was right in front of her to figure out. Plus I didn’t understand why she was kept in the dark. But that’s the story and it really didn’t affect my enjoyment of this enthralling story. I loved the sexual tension between our couple as they learn each other and build to a panty melting crescendo of lust and desire. Hot, hot, hot! Long live the King Santino and I hope his bride turns into a boss Queen. Another spectacular story from this outstanding author and I can’t wait for the next installment in this sizzling mafia romance.

About the Author:

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestselling author. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
